Family background

Basanta Parki has been under our care since March 2017. Tragically, his mother passed away in May 2016. He hails from Humla district, a remote and rural area with limited educational opportunities. In this region, government schools are often located far away, and children face arduous journeys of an hour or more to reach them. Basanta’s family is living in poverty. In addition to these challenges, Basanta also has a stepmother who has mistreated him. Recognizing his difficult circumstances, Basanta was referred to OHF for help, and he is now a part of our Nepal Orphanage, receiving the care and support he needs.
