Family background

After her parents divorced, Rajana’s father started a new family and cut off contact. Her mother, struggling to make ends meet, moved to Phnom Penh for work, leaving Rajana and her brother with their aunt in the village. When her mother remarried, her new husband refused to care for Rajana and her brother. Overwhelmed and unable to provide for all the children, their aunt made the difficult decision to bring them to our orphanage. Though heartbroken, she hoped this would give them a safe place to stay and a chance for a better future.
