Family background

Chan has to watch their father struggle to breathe every day. He suffers from lung disease and can barely provide for his family. He stays at home with the children, but he is barely able to take care of himself, let alone his family. Chan’s mother has had to leave home to work as a labourer overseas to make a living. The amount she sends back just enough for food and medicine, but unable to provide her a good education.
