Mr. Kulala is a recent widower struggling to care for his six children after the passing of his wife, who previously helped him with farming. The family survives on a small plot of land, growing only enough corn and potatoes for their own consumption due to the cold climate and poor soil. With limited resources and no access to proper education or healthcare, the family lives in deep poverty. Mr. Kulala’s elderly, disabled grandmother is left to care for the younger children while he works the land. Based on a recommendation from the village chief, our organization has taken in three of his children—Smriti (8), Juneli (6), and Mahendra (4)—into our Nepal orphanage. Here, they now receive safe shelter, nutritious meals, and access to education.
