Family background

Nika, a 12-year-old girl, is currently in the 2nd grade. Her parents, both of whom struggled with drug addiction, are now divorced, each having moved on to new families. Nika, however, resides with her grandparents, who, unfortunately, are not employed. Their sole means of sustenance is derived from meager assistance provided by the Cambodian government. To supplement their limited resources, the village chief has extended a helping hand by offering 2 kilograms of rice when called upon, although there are limitations to this support. Recognizing the urgency of Nika’s situation, the village chief is reaching out to OHF, appealing for assistance. The request encompasses school essentials for Nika and food provisions for the entire family.
