Family background

Sreyka is a 10 year old girl studying in grade 5 whereby her mother is a housewife and her father sale banana and also is a daily wage odd job laborer in the village earning around 500000riels = S$150 a month. They have a debt incurred for buying a motorbike so that her father can use it to sell banana. The earning from the father is used to repay the debt and interest for the motorbike, buy food and support Sreyka and her sibling to school. Because they are poor, they receive government support of 82000riels = S$24.60 a month
