Family background

Sokheng is a 10-year-old boy studying in grade 2 and his parents are divorced and both remarried with their own families. Sokheng and his 3 siblings are staying with his grandfather who are daily rate village worker earning around 400000riels = S$120 a month. Most of the earning from the grandfather are used to buy rice, food and for his grandchildren to go to school. Because they are poor, they receive government support of 92000riels = S$27.60 a month
