Family background

Sitha Solita is a 7 years old girl studying in grade 1 whereby her father is a carpenter earning US$150 a month in another province while her mother is a housewife. Her parents has a debt to repay for borrowing money to rent a rice field but the harvest is very poor. now her parents have to repay the principle + interest every month. The earning from her father is not enough to support the family so everyday her mother will go around looking for jobs in the village in exchange for rice. They receive government support of 72000riels = S$21.60 a year.
