Sujan’s father is battling blood cancer and has been forced to sell nearly everything to fund his treatment in India. His mother, who did not have the opportunity to attend school, works tirelessly as a nursery farmer, earning only 8,000rupees (about S$80) with basic shelter provided. This modest income, especially in the face of rising costs, makes it nearly impossible for her mother to support 4 children and so Sujan and his two sisters are referred to Nepal Advancement.
