Family background

Rajan comes from the remote Bajur district in Nepal, a place where life is already hard for many. Born into the Dalit community, the lowest caste in the country, Rajan has faced hardships that no child should ever endure. His father passed away, leaving behind a void that his mother struggled to fill. With limited means and overwhelming grief, she found it impossible to care for Rajan and his younger sister, Bipana. In May 2019, their circumstances became too difficult to bear, and Rajan and Bipana were brought under our care.
