Family background

Lang Srey Khouch is a 8 years old boy studying in grade 2 with only one uniform to wear for a week and it is to last for a year. His father is a daily odd job laborer in Phnom Pehn earning around US$150 a month. The family use most of his father’s earning to buy rice which is around 150000Riels = S$45 and they spent 15000riels = S$4.50 for daily food and because they are poor, they receive government support of 62000riels = S$18.60 a month from the government.
