Sohea and Soly are brothers. Their father abandoned the family and is uncontactable, while their mother left them in the care of their aunt and moved to another province for work, rarely sending support or visit her children. Their aunt, a widow with five children of her own, took them in despite already struggling to provide for her family. With seven children under her care and no home of her own, they all live together in a rented house, barely making ends meet. As the boys grow, so do their needs, but their aunt simply cannot afford to support them or send them to school. Wanting to give them a chance at a better future, she made the difficult decision to send Sohea and Soly to HVPV, where they can receive an education and build a brighter tomorrow.
