Her parents divorced and abandoned Chanrat and her siblings, leaving them in the care of their grandmother, who has since passed away three years ago. After her passing, the children were taken in by relatives and moved to Phnom Penh, where they lived in a rented house. However, due to financial struggles and the burden of loan repayments, the relatives could no longer support them. After two years, they returned the children to the village, where they are now left to fend for themselves without any adult supervision. The village and commune chiefs have been trying to support them by raising funds and providing dry food, which has sustained them for the past two months. They have also registered the children in the local school, but the children still lack essential stationery and supplies. Given this critical situation, the village and commune chiefs are requesting our help in bringing Chanrat and her siblings to HVPV, where they can receive proper care and education.
