Narak (5 years old) and his brother Narin (3 years old) are two young siblings facing an incredibly difficult situation. Their parents separated in December 2024 after their father was jailed for abuse of two nieces who lived in the same household. Following his arrest, the children’s mother and her two sons were forced out of their home by the mother-in-law. They now live with the mother’s aunt in extremely poor conditions—sleeping under the house on a simple bed covered with old zinc sheets. The mother recently lost her job because she had no one to care for her children. When she tried bringing them to work, they became a distraction, leading to her dismissal. Now, she is burdened with a debt of 400,000 Riel, with daily repayments of 20,000 Riel for 34 days—a debt she took on just to provide basic necessities for her children. Two days ago, in desperation, she went to the commune office seeking a solution. The commune officer referred them to OHF and now they are in HVPV
