Family background

Korm Srey Morn is a 7-year-old girl studying in grade 1. Her father left the family and is uncontactable and her mother is a factory worker earning around US$210 a month away from the village. Srey Morn and her 3 siblings are taken care of by their grandmother. As their grandmother needs to look after children, she cannot work. The family will depend on her mother to send money back to support the family. Because they are poor, they receive government support of 34000riels (S$10) a month.
